The Little Puppy Guide- Part 1
So cute
So lovely
So small
So finally you have got your little puppy with you. It is indeed said that puppy is
the fun, exciting and adorable member of the family who brings back’s the
energy in all. It is also true that a puppy is a big responsibility, but if there is
dedication, you will be rewarded with a loyal and loving companion for life.
If you wish to get or have a puppy, please read through.
The right one
When you get a puppy not only you but the puppy should also be a match to
your environment also. Check if the coat is suiting the climate of the area? Is
your house/apartment big enough and also can you match the energy level
required by the puppy. If these options are considered before it is helpful for
the well being of the puppy and your household.
Cleaning the house
It might clean for you but is it for our little explorers. Puppies love to explore
especially with the mouth, to protect them from any harm few things need to
be taken care of
Keep all electrical items, and cords covered if possible away from puppies
reach.
Avoid using toxic chemical cleaners.
Get trash cans away or of a size where the puppy cannot enter.
Use teething toys for them to spend time.
Use folding gates to keep them in one area
Bedding
A puppy because of the age should be kept in the warmer areas with easily
washable floors. Prefer using bedding in your room so you can hear the puppy
when they wish to relive themselves.
Two Metal bowls
Get two bowls for your pet, one for food and the other one for water. Metal
ones are better than glass as they don’t chip or break like glass ones. Prefer
anti-skid bowls so that the pet can have a peaceful meal. Bowls made from
Melamine material with food-grade quality can be used instead of steel as with
anti-rust properties it goes for long term. Please ensure if you have two pets to
have separate bowls to avoid conflict
The energy transfer
Your puppy would have a lot of energy, so make sure you get plenty of toys for
them both chew toys and soft toys included. The toys should be sturdy enough
to prevent choking hazards.
Choose the right to treat
Treats used for training should be healthy, small, and easily chewed or
swallowed. They show you liked what puppy did but halting training while they
eat it will hamper the process.
If your treats are larger, break them up into smaller pieces.
Make sure you get a variety: crunchy and soft. The soft will be good for
training, and the crunchy will help clean teeth.
